The German Shorthair Pointer is a dog, who bring the wild, the fox too, standalone and safe to his leader, and issue it safe and
clean to him. A GSP have the very good quality too, to go on the lane of injured wild safe until he will find it, and bring after
finding very fast back to the leader.
The work after the shot require from the dog best performance on the blood sweat track!!

The German Shorthair Pointer race have a more then 100 years of development behind himself.
They develope in this time to an allround talent.
The very short hair of this race has big advantage. it is enogh as heat protection, dry very fast and is easy to care.
Also in the winter time can not take ice balls into the fur. At the work in rough terrain you can remove burdock's very easy.
An GSP is a very easy to handle, easy to care, of a calm and balanced character which you can keep without problems inside of the house
same as in a dog kennel outside. If you have an GSP outside and build him a kennel there, you have to go sure that they have
family contact a lot!!!
We keep by ourself two GSP inside of the house, but they can go outside into our yards whenever they like.
They both live with us and our Bengal cats. Even if they both trained for hunting, they know best which cats are ours and live with us
and which not. They never would do anything to our Benagl cats, because they are grown together.
They are both never agressive or moody, and they are not barker!
They are both always relaxed if we are in the near of them, whatever we do, they are with us.
For this family contact they thank us with best performance-minded work into the field and the woods and the water.
Generaly it is possible too, to give a GSP to a non - hunter too. But then this family have to provide that this dog get enough
possibilitys for motion, GSP need motion - requirements.
They are speed dogs which have to run every day and have to get the possibility for that each day again.
For a GSP it is normal to run per day in one time more then 30 km at tempo 30 km/h without to have problems after.
After that run tehy are not quite or lay somewhere, they go on for searching or whatever forward.
An GSP should have also inside of the house his own place to realx, a place which is his own.
You should look that there is his own area to which he is be able to move back.
Never you should forget that also a GSP need once per year his vaccinations at the veterinarian.
Not to forget the vacc. against borrelia because it is a high risk in our area.
The GSP is not liable for illness, he is a health stabile dog.
Your GSP you should feed best and optimal. The trading firm and pet shops have several products there to make a optimal feeding
possible. Each person feed his dog different, but important to know is maybe that they need at all fesh meat, they are
carnivorous. In times of special hard work in the woods and the field, they need more and of higher quality food as in times, they
are more out of work. Each person who think about best what he is feeding his do, is right!!!
